Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green doesn't want to wait. He is chomping at the bit to get on the floor and take on the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors and Lakers will square off Wednesday night in one of the Western Conference play-in games. The winner will get the No. 7 seed and advance to play the No. 2-seeded Phoenix Suns.

Green told ESPN's Rachel Nichols he is raring to go, adding the showdown between the two storied franchises should make for a tremendous spectacle:

“I'm excited as hell,” Green said, via Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area. “I think playing against the Lakers, the defending champions, with an opportunity to solidify our spot in the playoffs — the stage doesn't get any bigger than LA.”

The former Defensive Player of the Year had previously suggested he wasn't excited by the idea of a play-in tournament. However, Green appears to have changed his mentality with the Warriors looking to sustain momentum and advance to the standard playoff bracket:

“I've been very vocal about the play-in tournament,” Green said, via Johnson. “But this is great. I'm excited about this. This is a great opportunity for us.”

Draymond is hardly the only one who will be excited.

It feels very likely Warriors-Lakers could be the most-watched game of the season, to date. Golden State finished the regular season with six straight wins, with Stephen Curry being must-see TV. Meanwhile, LeBron James and the Lakers are back to full strength, but also find themselves fighting for their playoff lives.

Green knows there is quite a bit to play for on Wednesday night. He seems to relish the spot his team is in.
