Golden State Warriors superstar Draymond Green was ejected late in the first half of Game 1 vs. the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday. He was whistled for a hard foul with 1:18 left in the second quarter in a tight game. Upon review, the referees upgrade the call to a Flagrant 2 foul on Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke, which comes with an immediate ejection.
After the game, the Warriors charismatic, fiery big man hosted his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show” from his hotel room in Memphis. He delved into the foul call and ejection, and had some very interesting things to say, some of which were quite hilarious.
Draymond Green on his pod: "I'm actually dumb enough to think that I wasn't going to get a Flagrant 1. Talk about an idiot. You want to call anyone an idiot, look no further than Draymond Green himself."

“I'm actually dumb enough to think that I wasn't going to get a Flagrant 1. Talk about an idiot. You want to call anyone an idiot, look no further than Draymond Green himself.”
Those sentences might be the most quintessential Draymond Green quotes of all-time. The Warriors star forward typically does not hold anything back and speak his mind, and putting himself in third person while calling himself an idiot is truly funny.
Be that as it may, Green's comments were also telling. He referenced actually trying to hold Clarke up, even as he lay on the floor. It certainly did not look like a play that would garner a Flagrant 2 call and ejection. Nevertheless, that's what the referees called.

Golden State did not get rattled. Instead, they used that as fuel. The Warriors had a big third quarter and ultimately won a tightly contested Game 1, 117-116. It was a total team effort with numerous Warriors players contributing down the stretch.
Golden State will look for a strangle hold of the series Game 2 Tuesday in Memphis.
