On Sunday, the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies played a thrilling Game 1 of their Western Conference Semifinals. It came down to the wire, with Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant missing a contested layup at the buzzer, leaving the Warriors with a 117-116 victory. During the game, Warriors rising star Jordan Poole balled out once again, dropping a team-high 31 points.

After the game, Warriors' Stephen Curry was asked about Poole's performance. He only needed three words to sum it up, saying “He's a hooper.

Curry went on to talk about how Poole is a special player. The Warriors superstar delved into Poole's ability to make big plays in big moments, saying you can't teach that stuff. He has a natural gift of coming up in clutch time. Curry went on to say “You either have it or you don't. He does,” speaking of Poole.

Poole came off the bench for the Warriors Sunday for the first time in this postseason. He had been starting as Curry was healing from his foot injury. Curry appears to be at full strength. Many people thought that Warriors coach Steve Kerr would start Curry, Poole and Klay Thompson. But once again, Kerr found the right way to get the most out of his players.

Both Thompson and Curry struggled with their shot at times Sunday. They shot a combined 14-for-39. However, Poole was on fire throughout. He finished 12-for-20 and made some timely buckets.

Golden State has stolen home court away from the Grizzlies and will look to take a strangle hold in Game 2 Tuesday.
