Nico Mannion made the tough but perhaps correct decision for his career on Tuesday when he decided to leave the Golden State Warriors and head to Virtus Bologna in Italy.
The choice has sparked a reaction out of Mannion's Warriors teammate, Draymond Green.

Green seems to be applauding the move by Mannion. Green recognizes the guard should see immediate playing time in Italy, and this decision does not close the door on Mannion returning to the NBA whatsoever.
Article Continues BelowIt's unknown if Green's hot take is directed at anyone in particular, but seeing him support his fellow Warriors teammate is good to see.
Mannion was a second-round pick in 2020 by the Warriors out of Arizona, but he appeared in only 30 games last season for Golden State. The flashy guard averaged 4.1 points per game on 36% shooting from 3-point range.
This could turn out to be a big win-win for all parties involved. For Virtus Bologna, they get a guard with some high scoring volume in his bag of tricks who has NBA experience. As for Mannion, he will likely have a much bigger role with the Italian squad compared to what he had with the Warriors. And speaking of Golden State, if Mannion does decide to come back to the NBA, the Warriors still hold his rights.
It has been a fairly quiet offseason for the Warriors after plenty of rumors swirled about as to what they were aiming to add via trade. It looks as though they may enter the season with the core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green carrying the weight, which isn't a bad option at all.
