Green captioned one of the videos, “Y’all unappreciative” followed by several goat emojis, and tagged his championship-winning teammates Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson. Kevin Durant, and Andre Iguodala.
This five-man group went by the nickname, “the Hamptons five” during their reign over the NBA. The name alludes to the recruiting trip taken by the Warriors core to the Hamptons to convince Durant to sign to play in the Bay. The group is considered by many, including Green’s story, to be the most talented team in league history.
Article Continues BelowLed on offense by Durant and Curry on offense and anchored on defense by Green, Iguodala, and Thompson, the team was incredibly versatile and diverse on both sides of the ball. Green clearly thinks that the league took the team’s achievement and peak for granted.
Today, the Warriors are a shell of their former selves, with Curry and Green the only remaining active players that still feature for Golden State. Thompson has been sidelined with a torn achilles, and Durant and Iguodala have left for greener pastures, to Brooklyn and Miami respectively.
Green and Durant had something of a public feud in the later stages of their time together, as they both expressed concerns with each other both on and off the court. That seems to all be in the past, as Green included his former teammate in the story with no reservations.
Despite the beef between the two stars, the Warriors dynasty was undisputedly one of most important the league has ever seen, and is a pillar of the modern NBA.
