San Francisco, CA – The Golden State Warriors lost to Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. The defeat hurt the Warriors in the standings, but the biggest loss of the night was Stephen Curry leaving the game with an injured foot. Marcus Smart dove for a loose ball and rolled into Curry’s leg, forcing him to leave the game permanently.

Many believe it was a dirty play by Smart. After the game, reporters asked Draymond Green about his thoughts on the situation.

“I can't call it a dirty play,” the Warriors veteran told ClutchPoints. “I will say that was probably an unnecessary dive because if you don't go through him, then you don't get the ball. The Ball is literally in front of him, so if anything, you can say it was unnecessary, but I can't call that a dirty play.”

Many consider Green the best defender in basketball. He understands playing tough defense can get dirty sometimes, and there is a line you don't cross. Smart didn't cross that line. It was an unfortunate event that occurred, and you never want to see that happen to anyone.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Curry was hurt. It's uncertain the severity of his injury, but the team did announce that he had to get an MRI Wednesday night.

The Celtics snapped the Warriors’ four-game winning streak and dropped their home record to 29-8. The Dubs are now tied with the Phoenix Suns for the best home record in the NBA. Golden State’s next game isn't until Sunday against the visiting San Antonio Spurs.
