For the second season in a row, the Golden State Warriors once again have a chance to select an NBA Draft lottery pick. James Wiseman was their guy last season with the second overall pick. While the big man has shown some flashes of promise, many feel as though the Dubs missed a golden opportunity to select Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball.
The book is far from being written on James Wiseman just yet. But with the immense skill that LaMelo Ball has already shown in just his rookie season, it stands to reason that he might be more equipped to contribute to an NBA championship push than a relatively raw prospect like Wiseman.
With the Warriors possessing the 7th and 14th picks in the upcoming draft, former NBA champion Luc Longley has been begging Steve Kerr to take a prospect who he feels could be the next LaMelo Ball: Australia's Josh Giddey.

“First of all, I think he's going to translate so well that I've been on the phone to Steve Kerr once a week….'Steve look at this guy, Steve don't miss this guy, do not sleep on this guy,'” claimed the Warriors coach's former Chicago Bulls teammate.
“I might surprise you now, but I think that his court vision and his spatial awareness and his understanding of that part of the game is at the same level this past season as LaMelo Ball. At the same level or better than LaMelo Ball was when he was in the NBL.”
Josh Giddey is the future of Australian basketball and definitely does have similarities to the Hornets rookie. At 6'8″ with guard skills and solid playmaking ability, the Warriors could definitely do worse than to take a flier on him with one of their lottery picks. That's assuming they keep them, of course.
