The Golden State Warriors have officially cut Marquese Chriss to create a roster spot for two-way player Damion Lee.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Dubs are planning to keep Lee who has already run out of days on his two-way contract. Per league rules, players on a two-way deal are only allowed to spend not more than 45 days with their respective NBA team.
However, in order to accommodate Lee, the Warriors have to open a roster spot from their 15-man lineup.

In the absence of point guard Stephen Curry and shooting guard Klay Thompson, Damion Lee took has taken advantage of the opportunity and has impressed in the 23 games he has played for the Warriors so far. He is averaging 12.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 42.5 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from deep and 89.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Marquese Chriss, who also featured for the Warriors against Sacramento, has been an inconsistent figure for the team so far in the season. While there are big expectations that he would be able to be a significant contributor for Golden State this 2019-20 season, it didn't really work out for him.
In 36 games he has suit up for the Dubs, Chriss averaged 7.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists while registering 49-19-76 shooting splits. The former 2016 lottery pick had a good stretch earlier in the season — averaging 12.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in four games in mid-November — but that has been the lone highlight of his Warriors stint.
Next up in the Warriors' list is resolving what to do with Ky Bowman, their second two-way player. It's worth noting that head coach Steve Kerr has previously said that he wants to keep Bowman in the 15-man roster and give him the opportunity to learn more before their stars return next season.
