Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of Game 4 against the Memphis Grizzlies, leaving assistant coach Mike Brown in charge for the crucial game. While things didn't go well for much of Game 4, Brown's Warriors snuck away with a 101-98 victory to take a 3-1 lead in the second-round series.
With Game 5 back in Memphis coming up on Wednesday, everybody is wondering if Kerr will be back on the bench. As of right now, it looks like it will be Brown manning the sidelines again for this potential closeout game:
The strong expectation from the Warriors is that Mike Brown will again be the head coach for Game 5 in Memphis.

Brown moved to 12-0 in the playoffs with the Warriors as a fill-in for Kerr. Brown coached 11 games during Golden State's dominant run in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, which saw them go 16-1 en route to a title in Kevin Durant's first season with the franchise. The lone loss came against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals when Kerr was coaching.
Kerr found out just before Monday's Game 4 that he wouldn't be able to coach, leaving Brown to scramble to take over his duties. It was pretty funny timing given Brown was just hired as the head coach of the Sacramento Kings. It felt like Brown brought the curse of the Kings to the Warriors for much of Game 4 given the truly putrid play through three quarters, but they snapped out of it in the fourth quarter. Namely, Stephen Curry snapped out of it with 18 points in the final frame.
It now looks like Brown will try to lead the Warriors to the Western Conference Finals.
