The DeMarcus Cousins signing made waves around the NBA and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is making no mistake about what Cousins is in the Bay Area to do. He's there to win a championship this year and prove to another team that he's worthy of a max contract. Kerr spoke with Logan Murdock of the Bay Area News Group and spoke about the agreement between the Warriors and Cousins.

“We made no bones about it when we signed him. This is a 1-year deal and we're not going to have money to sign him next year so we'd like to help him win a championship and sign a great contract somewhere else. That's the reality.”

This is really the best of both worlds for the Warriors and for Cousins. The Warriors add an All-Star and a dominant center to their proven corps while Cousins enters the perfect situation to showcase his talent and prove to teams that he's healthy.

All sides win in this scenario if it all goes according to plan. There's little reason to believe it won't. The Warriors were already overwhelming favorites to three-peat entering the season and Cousins brings an added element to the roster. This version of Golden State has never had a truly dominant center and when healthy, Cousins is one of the most overpowering forces in all of basketball.

Add his talent to the greatest collection of shooters the league has ever seen and it becomes difficult to imagine possible scenarios where Cousins and Golden State's marriage will end in failure.
