Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors is shooting the ball far less than this year. Head coach Steve Kerr wants the veteran to shoot more.

Per Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Kerr observed that Iguodala has become passive on offense of late rather than taking a wide-open jump shot. Though Kerr wants the 34-year-old to shoot more, he still has full trust in him that he'll know what to do. Kerr especially pointed out that Iguodala turns it up a notch come playoff time.

Throughout his career, Iguodala hasn't built a reputation as a scorer. For his career, he takes just 9.6 shots per game. The most he's averaged in a season was 15.6 per game in the 2007-08 campaign, back when he was still a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. Since then, Iguodala's shot attempts have dwindled down.

Yet this stat hasn't made Iguodala a liability for the Warriors. Kerr has commended him time and time again for his high basketball IQ and even compared him to his former teammate, defensive stalwart Scottie Pippen. Iguodala has been one of the key pillars of the Warriors during their three championships runs over the last four years. Whether he racks up his field-goal attempts or not, he'll always find different ways to effectively contribute to his team.
