San Francisco, CA – The Golden State Warriors could use the services of a talented 7-foot center this year, but a nagging meniscus injury is keeping James Wiseman out of the lineup. The second-year player was nearing a return towards the end of the season, but swelling in the knee sidelined him for good.

In the past, Wiseman said his family and teammates have kept in touch with him to give him to keep his spirits up, but two past NBA champions have done the same. The two retired players are Tyson Chandler and former Warriors Shaun Livingston.

“I've talked to Tyson Chandler a lot, and also Shaun Livingston and just different players like them,” Wiseman told ClutchPoints. “They just gave me a lot of information on how to maneuver in this league, what stuff I need to learn to develop my game, going through injuries, and how can I persevere through that. So I've been asking a lot of questions, and they've been giving me a lot of answers.”

Livingston played for the Warriors and won three rings with the team. He currently works for the organization and is in the presence of Wiseman often. Early in his career, he suffered several injuries and one almost ended his career. Having Livingston around to mentor the young prospect has been a big help.

Depending on how Wiseman’s rehabilitation progresses, the next time you can see him in action could be in this year's NBA Summer League. He's excited and can't wait to get the green light.
