Does anyone here still remember when Jordan Poole was once labeled as the “worst pick in the draft“? Well, I'd like to hear from the dude that came out with this assessment now that Poole has won his first championship with the Golden State Warriors.
For his part, however, Poole appears to have no ill will against his naysayers. As a matter of fact, the Warriors stud had some sage advice with regard to this matter after Golden State's title-clinching win against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night:
Article Continues Below“People tried to write me off personally, but if you believe in yourself — to anybody listening: if your back is against the wall and you believe in yourself and you think it's possible, stick to it no matter what, no matter the noise, don't let anybody ever tell you that you can't,” Poole said (h/t Kikue Higuchi of the San Francisco Chronicle).
Obviously, people had their doubts about Poole when the Warriors selected him as the 28th overall pick back in 2019. Those uncertainties have all been erased after what we saw from Poole this season. He's now established himself as a key player for the Dubs, so it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up winning more chips in Golden State.
