Kevin Durant's dissatisfaction with members of the basketball media is nothing new. The Brooklyn Nets star is never afraid to fire back at someone's opinion, whether it is shared online or during a press conference. During his time with the Golden State Warriors, Durant squared off with media members constantly.

There were several testy moments between Durant and the reporters covering the Warriors. The narratives drawn about the team didn't seem to favor Durant and instead made Stephen Curry out to be the main guy. It's impossible to say how much influence, if any, this coverage had on his decision to leave for the Nets. Regardless, it certainly didn't help.

Durant told Logan Murdock of The Ringer that the frequent questions he received about his pending free agency during the Warriors' 2019 season was “unprofessional.”

“I just think I deserved a little bit more respect than that. I came out here and gave back money, sacrificed my name, and went out here and sacrificed my body every night to be the best that I can be. I just asked for a little bit more respect to wait until after the season than to badger me every day, all year with questions like that,” he says, referring to his free agency. “I thought it was unfair to me and the whole group to even think about anything that was going to happen after the year. It was unprofessional, in my opinion.”

Durant and the Warriors have both moved on. While Golden State looks to keep contending, Durant and the Nets, the team he is very happy with, are looking to finally reach the Finals.
