Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson doubled down on his undying commitment to Steve Kerr, even channeling Michael Jordan in his promise to the head coach.

After the Warriors won their fourth NBA championship over the last eight years, Thompson went to NBA TV and said he's never going to play for another coach ever again. In his latest appearance on Draymond Green's podcast, he reiterated that promise and emphasized that he's going “full Michael Jordan” to make that happen:

“Man, I did tell Steve Kerr at the NBA TV podium, I told him, ‘You know, I'm going full Michael Jordan.' I'm aligning myself with Steve, I ain't playing for anybody else but Steve,” Thompson said, per NBC Sports. “That's the plan and it would be weird to be in another uni, so I'm just grateful to be up here and to be mentioned with the Lakers, Celtics and the Bulls. Now we're there.”

For those not in the know, Klay Thompson was referencing Michael Jordan's threat to the Chicago Bulls after the 1997-98 season. His Airness warned that he'd retire if they don't bring back Phil Jackson after that campaign, and he did so when the team pushed through with their decision to let the tactician walk away.

With that said, should the Warriors ever part ways with Steve Kerr, Klay Thompson might retire instead. However, that's something that Dubs fans shouldn't think too much about given how successful Golden State has been with Kerr as their mastermind.
