SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole just played his best game this season with Klay Thompson in the starting lineup. The rising star had 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field while playing 26 minutes off the bench.

It was an impressive performance against the Dallas Mavericks, but what impressed Thompson most happened before the game.

“What I love about him is during his rookie season and even his second year, when he would have a tough night shooting or he was struggling with his jump shot, I would see him in the gym after games getting up a ton of jump shots,” Thompson told ClutchPoints.

One thing all of Poole's Warriors teammates and coaches say about him is he works extremely hard. Steve Kerr once said he was the hardest worker on the team as far as coming into the facility to get extra work with their staff.

“When you see a player care that much and you see him care about his performance, that's what really impresses me,” Thompson said. “I'm not surprised by his growth because he's an extremely hard worker and he's only going to get better. The kid is only 22. He's going to be really good for a really long time.”

The Warriors were in total control when they took down Luka Doncic and the Mavs. They held Dallas under 100 points and took home a convincing 130-92 victory. The Warriors were led in scoring by rookie Jonathan Kuminga, who had 22 points, and Stephen Curry was right behind him with 18. Thompson added 15 points and six assists in one of his better games since his return.
