The playoffs have finally begun. The Golden State Warriors dropped their first game against the Denver Nuggets after being up 3-0. Now the team is heading back to the Bay Area to try to close things out in front of their home crowd. Superstar Klay Thompson talked about the importance of this next game and their mindset for Wednesday's match.

“We’ve got to go into it like this is a must-win,” the Warriors veteran told ClutchPoints. “We’d like to get some rest before the next series, and we don't want to travel back to Denver. We’ve got to come with the mindset that we have something to prove, that it’s a must-win.”

The series is 3-1 after Sunday's game. The Warriors lost to the Nuggets 126-121. Thompson tallied a 2022 playoff-high 32 points, his 14th career playoff game of 30-plus points. The three-time champion scored 20-or-more in three-straight games. He made seven threes Sunday night. The seven threes are the most he has made during this postseason in a single game.

If the Warriors win Game 5, it will be the first playoff series the franchise has won since 2019. It would also be the first series victory inside of the Chase Center. A win at home on Wednesday would be the beginning of a new era in San Francisco.

The new trio of Thompson, Stephen Curry, and Jordan Poole gave the Nuggets problems all series, but on Sunday they couldn't quite get the job done. Wednesday night in the Bay Area, the plan is to end the series and for the Warriors to get ready for their next opponent.
