San Francisco, CA – Although Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson will not play against the San Antonio Spurs due to injury management, the sharpshooter’s last two games have been spectacular. He scored 69 points in his last two appearances and is finally starting to look like his old self again.

Thompson had his share of struggles during the season, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr believes it was from pressing and shot selection. Thompson agreed with his coach and explained why he thinks he was impatient with his shot selection.

“I’d probably say just the amount of games I’ve played,” Thompson told ClutchPoints. “When you’ve had the time off I did, it’s tough. No matter how many simulations or scrimmages you do, it’s so hard to replicate the NBA speed.”

This year, the Warriors former All-Star is averaging 19.7 points while shooting 42.3 percent from the field and 37.9 from three-point land. In Thompson’s last two games, he's averaging 34.5 points, shooting 52 percent from the field and 51.9 from deep.

“To have the amount of games under me that I’ve had and play the minutes I’ve played, 33 (minutes), playing real minutes now, it’s given me confidence,” Thompson said. “I feel like myself. It’s been encouraging.”

It's two games left of the season, and Thompson is starting to play some good basketball. With the Warriors making the playoffs for the first time since 2019, it's perfect timing.

The three-time champion is expected to be a huge part of the Warriors making a run in the playoffs. Hopefully, Stephen Curry is back on the court, and Draymond Green is at full strength because if they are, the Dubs can be very dangerous.
