Four-time All-Star and three-time NBA Champion Klay Thompson has recently talked highly about new teammate DeMarcus Cousins. The 6-foot-7 guard was all praises despite the fact that Cousins apparently poked fun at Thompson during their time together with Team USA.
Thompson detailed Cousins' shenanigans to Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle.
“He always made fun of me on Team USA for the way I dressed, the way I looked, the way I talked,” Thompson playfully relayed.
Always known to be the class clown, Cousins apparently also had Thompson on his radar at one point in their careers. Nevertheless, the latter was a good sport and never held this against the former Sacramento Kings cornerstone star.
Article Continues BelowIn fact, Thompson was overjoyed when he learned that Cousins would be joining him in Oakland this season. Thompson believes that Cousins is able to play well with others, and that he brings a lot to the table.
“DeMarcus is a great teammate,” stated Klay Thompson. “I’m excited to be his teammate, man, I can’t wait. He’ll add a whole new dimension to our team, and I know how hungry he’s going to come back. Cuz is great, he’s awesome.”
Currently recovering form his Achilles injury, Cousins is expected to miss the better part of the upcoming season. Thompson will likely need to wait until at least the second half of the season before he finally shares the court with his new compatriot.
