The Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies will meet for the second time in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Klay Thompson and the Dubs won the first meeting by one point, and they did it without their emotional leader Draymond Green playing in the second half.

Green got ejected in the second quarter after a controversial flagrant foul he committed on Memphis forward Brandon Clarke. In Game 2, Green will be back, and Thompson expects him to have to deal with a hectic Memphis crowd.

“I've been through the biggest battles with Dray and he embraces those moments. He embraces being the villain and we need that,” Thompson told ClutchPoints. “He really makes us go, and without him, we're not the Warriors. I've said that before, so I'm just excited for him because he is his best in games like this.”

The Warriors beat the Grizzlies 117-116. Draymond Green is usually the man who makes defensive plays down the stretch, but this time it was Klay Thompson. He helped Gary Payton II stop Ja Morant on the final play of the game.

Thompson finished the contest with 15 points but made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 36 seconds left in the game to give the Warriors the lead for good.

The Warriors are expecting to get the Grizzlies' best shot in Game 2 as Memphis tries to avoid going down 0-2 in the series. If the Dubs succeed and get the win, they will start looking forward to sweeping Morant and co and closing things out at Chase Center. There's nothing Green the villain would want more.
