Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are once again viewed as the team to beat as they look to win their third NBA Finals in as many years. Not only did the Warriors keep their “big four” from last season, they also are awaiting the return of All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins.

Golden State has started the 2018-19 NBA season with a 3-1 record. Their only loss came against the Denver Nuggets by a final score of 100-98. Tonight, the Warriors will have another big test against the Washington Wizards.

There has been some concern about whether Thompson would be able to play in tonight's game due to an ankle injury. Thankfully, it sounds like Thompson is good to go.

According to the official NBA Injury Report, Thompson is available to play tonight against the Wizards.

Throughout the first four games of the season, Thompson has averaged 14.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. His numbers have fallen off a bit from last year, but there is not much concern. He has shot just 37.3 percent from the field overall and 13.6 percent from behind the 3-point arc.

Every shooter goes through slumps, but they always work their way out of them. That will be the case with Thompson this season.

Hopefully, Thompson's ankle injury will heal fully in the near future and will not be something that continues slowing him down. It sounds like the Warriors are confident that he is healthy enough to play.

Expect to see Thompson play his usual role this evening as the Warriors look to get a big win against a quality basketball team.
