This past week, Golden State Warriors associate head coach Mike Brown appeared on the “Runnin’ Plays” podcast and talked about a number of topics relating to the Warriors. Brown also revealed that  Klay Thompson is the only player on the team that hasn't been answering his phone calls.

Brown does check-ins with his players almost every day to make they're doing OK in quarantine. However, Thompson is the only Warrior that doesn't answer his phone calls.

“I’ve reached out, I’ve talked to all of our players but Klay Thompson. I reached out to Klay, but Klay you haven’t called me back,” Brown told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Kerith Burke and Logan Murdock.

One of the possible reasons Thompson isn't answering his coach's phone calls could be because he's been too busy with his short documentary, Above the Waves. Thompson's short documentary, which was released on May 6th, chronicled his journey back to the court after suffering a torn ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. NBA fans got a rare behind the scenes look into the injury rehab of Thompson.
Nevertheless, Thompson’s recovery has caused him to miss the entire 2019-20 season. Even though the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has postponed the season, it's likely Thompson isn't coming back this season, especially since the Warriors have already been eliminated from the playoffs.
In the same interview, Brown also spoke out on how it's like coaching Thompson.

“Klay, he’s just a special human being — he’s about as fun and easy of a guy to coach,” Brown added. “He’s funny, talked about much s–t as anybody on our team”.

When Thompson does come back, the Warriors lineup will look really scary.
