The Golden State Warriors are in the middle of their quest for a third straight title, as they are in a tightly contested Western Conference semi-finals series with the Houston Rockets. However, the side stories about the team and its players this season is slowly but surely starting to take the spotlight. Of course, we are talking about the free agency situations of some of their key players, particularly Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson; and while the former seems to be getting most of the attention whenever this topic is being discussed, the latter's decision can't be downplayed because of how valuable he has been for this team.

Klay's scoring impact has resulted in a lot of wins for the Warriors. According to ESPN's Nick Friedell, the Dubs have a record of 107-25 over the past three seasons whenever Thompson scores at least 20 points. In addition, the team has won a whopping 91 percent of their games whenever he makes at least five 3-pointers, and just to show you how impressive it is, Golden State has won only 83 percent of their games whenever two-time MVP Steph Curry makes at least a quintet of triples in a game.

He might be more valuable to the team and the franchise than what most people think.
