One of the biggest moments in every NBA player's career is hearing their name called on draft night. The two Golden State Warriors rookies got to experience that in this year's draft. Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody shared this special moment as lottery picks.
The Dubs picked Kuminga 7th, and everything went as they usually do. When Moody's name got called at the 14th pick ESPN's Kendrick Perkins struggled to pronounce his name correctly, and the moment instantly went viral.
During an interview on the Warriors' Multiverse podcast, Moses Moody talked about that memorable moment.
“I didn't feel any type of way about it. It was funny for sure. I can't be mad at him. I'm in a new light now. If we were back in Little Rock, ain't nobody going to mess my name up. But now I'm going into this new world. I got a blank slate, and I got to make a name for myself,” the Warriors youngster told ClutchPoints.

The memory of Perkins mispronouncing Moody's name still follows the talented rookie. There have been shirts made, and even his superstar teammate Stephen Curry had some fun with him at the Warriors' open practice a few months back. He purposely announced his name to the fans as Perkins did during the draft making Moody and fans laugh once they recognized what he was doing.
So it's all fun and games for now, but Moody is a confident and determined player with a bright future ahead of him. He can be a household name in the NBA, just like in his hometown Little Rock, Arkansas, and nobody will mess up his name then. The Warriors are banking on it.
