Golden State Warriors guard Quinn Cook has begun to flourish in the latter third of the regular season, just in time to secure a spot in the playoff rotation as the team fights for the top seed in a loaded Western Conference.

The former two-way player was signed to a full-fledged deal late in 2017-18, yet his role on this year's playoff team was uncertain until he recently cemented it with outstanding shooting and the right level of confidence.

Cook attributed that change to head coach Steve Kerr, who gave him the opportunities to make his mark:

“He always believed in me. He gave me that confidence,” Cook said of Kerr, according to Mark Medina of the The Mercury News. “He always allowed me to play my game and he’s always in my ear. Obviously I want to have a career like he had just knowing he’s always been a winner and played many years in this league. He’s helped me tremendously.”

Cook is likely to be the eighth man for Kerr, leapfrogging veteran Shaun Livingston on the depth chart thanks to his shooting prowess this late in the season, something that will prove vital from the second unit come playoff time.

The Duke product has had his share of ups and downs throughout the season, but has regained his shooting stroke as well as the green light from his coach just in time for a deep postseason run.

He hit 50 percent of his 3-point shots in March, rounding out a sparkling 39.9 percent from deep for the season.
