San Francisco, CA – The Golden State Warriors suffered their first defeat of the season on Thursday night. It came with another struggling performance from third-year guard Jordan Poole.  He finished the game with 9 points on 4-of-9 shooting and 6 turnovers in 23 minutes. In the preseason, Poole was a scoring machine, but in the regular season, things have taken a negative turn.

“He wants it really bad. He wants to be great in this league. Honestly, you can see it, but it takes time, and for him, it's just understanding that you don't have to press every night,” Curry told ClutchPoints.

In the last two games, Poole is 0-of-9 from beyond the arc for the Warriors. He wants to get back to his grove, but trying so hard is getting the best of him. If he can make the game simple and get back into the flow of the team's offense, he should be fine.

“It's just about not forcing anything and understanding the games going to come. Because he's super talented, he has all the skill set in the world to put the ball in a basket and be a playmaker, and he sees the court really well. He just can't press,” the Warriors superstar explained.

Poole is a very young confident player. When you have so much talent and ability, bad games are going to occur as you develop. Warriors fans shouldn't worry too much about his early struggles because a big night should be on the way.

Thursday's loss snapped the Warriors' season-opening four-game winning streak. The streak marked their first of four-or-more games to start a season since 2015-16, when they won an NBA record 24 consecutive contests.
