While Stephen Curry was out with a tailbone injury, a couple of things have changed. The Golden State Warriors started their longest losing streak of the season, and rookie James Wiseman received the starting center job for the remainder of the campaign.
Wiseman has shown a ton of potential during his rookie season, but he has yet to find his bread and butter offensively. Now, ahead of playing the Chicago Bulls on Monday, Curry talked about using the 19-year-old Warriors rookie more on the offensive end.
“We're working on getting some reps together even in practice, so he can understand angles and my pace,” Stephen Curry explained. “You know how I see those reads, how teams are going to defend me and how to, you know, for him to know how to make those subtle adjustments to be able to set good screens and roll and find the right angles to attack. Maybe just chemistry on the passes that I make and stuff like that, so more time out there is a big part of what we do.”

Just about every week, Warriors coach Steve Kerr has talked about how good James Wiseman could be–all while highlighting the need for more minutes to develop. His message on Monday remained the same.
“It’s a work in progress. We are just trying to get James as many reps as possible and not just in pick-and-roll but in every aspect of the game,” the Warriors coach continued. “These young guys who come in with very little experience. There is no substitute for game action and game experience. It will be good to get Steph and James together with Draymond (Green), those three in particular, and then you will see a variety of pick-and-rolls. Sometimes James will be on the backside of the play with Draymond in the pick-and-roll, but sometimes James will be directly in it.”
As we keep an eye on Wiseman's development, one thing you can anticipate is the young big man being involved more offensively and in pick and roll situations with Curry.
