The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. Stephen Curry took home the first Finals MVP award of his career. Along with champagne, he's bringing out some freezing cold takes to celebrate his most recent accomplishment.
There were lots of doubts surrounding the Warriors' ability to compete for titles after Klay Thompson's series of injuries and Curry missing almost all of the 2019-20 season. Many basketball fans questioned if Curry's best days were behind him. He and the Dubs then proved all the doubters wrong. At the postgame press conference, he focused his critique on a few particular detractors.
During the last offseason when Curry signed another lucrative contract extension with the Warriors, ESPN talking heads Kendrick Perkins and Domonique Foxworth boldly claimed that he would not be winning any more titles in the next four years. After immediately proving them wrong, Curry fired back.

Curry dubbed himself the Petty King when Celtics fans taunted his wife. He is exercising his rule over the land now that he has reclaimed the NBA throne. Perkins offered an apology to Curry and the Warriors for doubting them. Foxworth congratulated Curry and changed his Twitter profile picture to Curry holding up the zero to his face.
Although the Warriors are far from underdogs at this point, they will be sure to fitre back at everyone who didn't think they could win another championship. Draymond Green also joined in the fun, insisting that Perkins is a clown who doesn't know ball.
