Before the 2018-19 season started, many were wondering how the Golden State Warriors were going to integrate DeMarcus Cousins on both ends of the floor, but especially offensively. Under Steve Kerr, the Warriors play at a fast pace and the ball is always moving. Cousins, meanwhile, is a player who often holds onto the ball when he's in the post.

Some thought Golden State would have to switch up their system for Cousins. Golden State superstar Stephen Curry, however, says the team never had to do that since Cousins, considered a malcontent at each of the previous two stops of his career, is an unselfish player who prioritizes winning above all else.

“I think it's just being consistent with everybody being who they are,” Curry told Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated. “You don't have to switch up anything. He's extremely talented guy who wants to figure it out, who wants to win. Knows he can help us do that.

“So in terms of how his whole rehab process and him staying engaged, he did that on his own. He understands, the sense of urgency of the moment. And now that he's back on the floor, it's just about getting us as comfortable as possible and making sure we know everybody's valuable to what we do.”

Cousins missed the first 45 games of the season while recovering from the Achilles tear he suffered last season with the New Orleans Pelicans.

It wasn't always pretty, but Cousins blended in pretty nicely with the Warriors. Boogie averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 30 games, helping the Warriors to a 23-7 record with him in the lineup.
