The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers have one huge similarity and one huge difference. Both teams were expected to be extremely dominant this season, but only one of them has lived up to its expectations. The Warriors are 3rd in the West at 44-22, while the Lakers are 9th in the West at 28-37.

The poor season is mostly due to Lakers stars like Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis not performing up to high expectations. All NBA stars go through rough patches, and all players get booed when they don't perform well. However, fans have taken it too far when it comes to Westbrook. His family has received hate and death threats because of his recent decline in gameplay, a situation completely unrelated to his loved ones.

Fortunately, Westbrook and his wife Nina have done a great job at combatting the negative comments, and they are receiving plenty of support from the rest of the league.

Warriors star Stephen Curry is one of the latest players to stand up for the point guard and his loved ones. He shared his opinion on the situation, quotes courtesy of Yahoo Sports.

“I told him when we played them in L.A. a couple of days ago that I respect how he’s handled the whole year just in terms of everything he’s been saying and how he’s been handling himself and protecting his family…it is kind of B.S. when it crosses the line in terms of attacking somebody personally, their name, and not keeping it to just basketball.”

The Warriors face off against the Lakers next on April 7 in San Francisco.
