The Golden State Warriors regained control of their first-round series with the Houston Rockets on Saturday night with a crucial 104-93 victory in San Francisco to take a 2-1 lead. The Rockets seemingly had the advantage coming into the game with Warriors star Jimmy Butler sidelined due to a pelvic contusion, but that didn't matter in the end.

Golden State doesn't have a ton of scorers outside of Butler, but it still has Stephen Curry. That proved to be enough to get the win in Game 3 as the future Hall-of-Famer scored 36 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. He shot 12-for-23 from the field and drilled five 3-pointers, so the Rockets had no answers for him throughout the night.

Head coach Steve Kerr has seen his fair share of epic Curry performances in the postseason, but it never gets old seeing the Davidson product lead his squad to victory. He dropped a GOAT take on his star point guard after Game 3 finished up.

“He's Steph Curry. He's one of the greatest players of all time. He's 37 (years old). He's one of the most well-conditioned athletes I've ever seen in my life,” Kerr said. “To play 41 minutes against that kind of defense, to have a slow start and then find his rhythm, to hit big shots, to only turn it over twice against that kind of pressure. He was brilliant.”

The Rockets' plan is clear coming into this series. They want to rough Curry up off the ball and be physical with him in order to wear him down over the course of the game. Houston has a number of different bodies who it can stick on Curry, but that approach didn't work on Saturday.

It will be even harder to limit this Warriors offense on Monday night in Game 4 if Butler is able to return to the lineup. Golden State would have another creator and scorer to utilize like it did in Game 1, when the Warriors picked up a road win in Houston.

The Rockets will surely make some adjustments. They are well-coached and have very talented and athletic defenders, so it will be difficult for the Warriors to get over the line. However, Curry's greatness means that it may not matter what Houston does going forward.
