On Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings combined for a record 41 three-pointers in a single ballgame. While this speaks volumes of both team's firepower from distance, it is also a knock on the defensive effort of both teams, particularly in defending shots from deep.

Following his team's 127-123 victory, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry admitted that the Warriors will need to make the necessary adjustments on their defense as the race for the three-peat enters its final stages.

“At the end of the day we know in order to win a championship we have to get stops, and we did that in the fourth quarter,” Curry said, via ESPN. “The 3s that they were getting were mostly in transition and on breakdowns, just not communicating, and obviously they made us pay by making them.”

Kings guard Buddy Hield — who happens to be one of this season's top three-points marksmen — made it rain on Saturday, sinking eight three-pointers against the defending champs, en route to a team-high 32 points.

Thankfully for Warriors supporters, their team were able to fight fire with fire. Curry was adamant that he was not going to be outdone by Hield, as the former two-time MVP accounted for 10 of his team's 21 three-pointers on the evening.

With the win, the Warriors improve to 26-14, and are currently third in the Western Conference. Nevertheless, as Curry expressed, the Dubs will need to do much better on defense moving forward if they hope to successfully defend their throne.
