Stephen Curry offered some words of advice for a struggling DeMarcus Cousins, who had a tough go at the Boston Celtics, as the Golden State Warriors were handed a 128-95 loss on their home court.
Cousins had 10 points on 4-of-12 shooting, nine rebounds and four assists, missing all of his five 3-pointers and often getting tested by Celtics center Aron Baynes, who ultimately caused him to lose his cool in the fourth quarter.
“We like that emotion,” said Curry. “But for us, that all has to be channeled toward being productive and understanding that he's gonna be extremely important for us to win a championship. As we get to the playoffs, as long as we can remove any distractions and anything that is going to get in the way of us playing the way we want to play — that fire can be channeled the right way.”

“Tonight, nobody minded what happened out there on the court,” said Curry. “With the way that we were playing, it's nice to see some life for somebody, but as we go forward, in all perspective and anything that happens on the floor has to be shaped into how we play an A-plus night after night. In the playoffs, every possession is important — and we have to get there.”
Cousins had been coming off three straight 20-plus-point games as of recent, but the big man struggled bulldozing his way against a sturdy and physical Baynes, who acted deceptively by first standing his ground on the post and frustrating him and then taking charges once he had conditioned him into a power battle.
Baynes isn't the only center capable of that in the Celtics' roster, as Al Horford had made a living of doing that to other power big men like Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond.
If Boogie is to help the Warriors, he must take a token of advice from Curry and learn to channel that ire as fuel for his performance, instead of lashing out and racking up the technicals like he's been known to do.
