Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is an early MVP favorite. Every season it appears the three-time champion is getting better and better. Not just offensively but on the defensive end also. The point guard who routinely got picked on defensively now at times defends some of the top players at his position with confidence.
Curry's improved defense is noticeable. Steve Kerr and Draymond Green have talked about it, and Jordan Poole called Curry one of the top defenders in the NBA at his position. So during Curry's postgame interview after Thursday's match against the Cavs, yours truly asked Curry if he was trying to make an All-Defensive team this season, he replied.
“If you want to start that narrative for me, please, by all means. I will happily do my part to try to make you a prophet,” Stephen Curry told ClutchPoints.

The fact of the matter is Curry is much improved when it comes to his defense. If you pay attention when teams try to isolate him as they did in the past, they aren't as successful now. He isn't a player you need to hide on defense. Now it's more of preserving his energy if possible.
Even if Curry doesn't make a Defensive Team this season, his improvement on that side of the court is valuable to the Warriors' success. He plays a more prominent role on defense than most think. His offense is a part of his defense, and it all ties into why he's the best player in basketball right now.
The Warriors face the Detroit Pistons Friday and could be without their superstar point guard. Curry is still dealing with a lingering hip injury he suffered against the Brooklyn Nets earlier this week. So we will have to see how he feels that morning.
