Los Angeles, CA – The NBA trade deadline is on March 25. The Golden State Warriors have been mentioned in a handful of different trade scenarios thus far. For a team like the Warriors, whose record stands a game above .500 and battling for a playoff spot, having chemistry and momentum are essential. For Stephen Curry, the Warriors need to drown out all the outside noise to do it.
Trade rumors have destroyed teams in the past, as we saw with the Lakers in the 2018-19 season. The team seemingly played with a dark cloud hovering above them as the eventual Anthony Davis trade loomed large. After practice on Wednesday, the 2021 three-point champion Curry talked about helping his teammates deal with swirling rumors.
“You just keep it real like that's part of the business. It's going to be chatter. It's going to be conversations, especially with where we are right now, where people can come up with any type of scenario that makes sense for our team now and in the future and all the assets. You can get caught up in that quick then end up with nothing happening or everything happening.
So it's just a matter of being real this is a part of the league. Long as you have a jersey on, you're liable to be traded, your liable to be in a situation that's different than what you expected, or things will work out in your favor. Everything happens pretty quickly, so address it be real. This is a part of the time frame we're in until the trade deadline, but stay focused on the job at hand. When you're out there, play hard, represent yourself the way you're supposed to, represent your team, and let the chips fall where they may in that respect,” Curry told Clutchpoints.
The Warriors have struggled all season with consistency, and it's apparent to the players and the front office. Bob Myers, Warriors General Manager, recently spoke about being aggressive with possible trades in a radio interview.

“It's the balancing act as far as what makes sense now, but doesn't hamper us in the future,” Myers said Wednesday on 95.7 The Game's “Steiny, Guru & Dibs” show via NBC Sports Bay Area. “What can we do that maybe can be beneficial this year and into next year.
“We'll be aggressive. We'll look around. There were years where we had the best record and were pretty quiet at the trade deadline. We didn't really do much or make many calls. I think we'll be more open in making calls and listening to calls than we've been.”
Curry's focus is on making it back to the playoffs, and he needs his teammates to be locked in and focused on that too.
“I got faith in every guy in that locker room as it stands now, and that's the confidence you have to have. I think there are 30 teams out there, probably thinking about whether it's big or small roster adjustments. That's just a part of the business,” said Curry.
