Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry is still on track to play on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Curry has missed the previous two games due to the flu. However, Curry “has no specific risk factors for COVID-19.”

The Warriors got destroyed by the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday without Curry. Golden State lost by a final score of 131-107.

Curry made his grand return to the court last Thursday against the Toronto Raptors after missing most of the season with his broken hand. The two-time MVP and three-time champion finished with 23 points in 27 minutes of action while shooting 6-of-16 from the field, 3-of-12 from beyond the arc and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Despite the Warriors’ loss to the Raptors, it was still great to see Curry back out there in his element putting on a show for the Chase Center crowd. Even though the Dubs are going to miss the playoffs this season for the first time in the Steve Kerr era, the rest of the season is not totally pointless, as the Warriors want to see Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green develop some on-court chemistry heading into a critical summer.

After Thursday’s performance, Curry is now averaging 20.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists on the season. He still hasn’t missed from the free-throw line, but his 3-point percentage is at 24.5. Expect that percentage to rise, though, as the season moves along.

The Warriors are 15-50 on the season. They still have the worst record in the NBA.

Thursday is going to be a weird game at the Chase Center, as there will be no fans in attendance because of the coronavirus outbreak.
