The Golden State Warriors are set to take on the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. The Western Conference series begins Saturday night in San Francisco.
Ahead of Game 1, Stephen Curry discussed his availability with teammate Draymond Green on “The Draymond Green Show.” The Volume tweeted this extremely optimistic update from the Warriors star Thursday afternoon.

“How are you feeling as far as being ready to play this weekend?”

“The goal has always been Game 1,” Curry said. “But it's all just dealing with the pain that comes with the injury that I had in my foot…the wear and tear that comes with an injury like that. The goal has always been Game 1, the goal still remains Game 1. I'm very optimistic that it'll be Game 1…I just want to be available.”
If things go according to plan, this would be a huge boost for Golden State. Curry has been out of commission for almost a month now. He suffered a sprained ligament and bone bruise in his left foot in the Warriors' March 16 loss to the Boston Celtics and hasn't played since.
Despite his injuries, Curry appears to be making solid progress in his recovery. The star participated in a full practice on Wednesday. This marked his first full practice since the injury occurred.
With or without their star three-point shooter, the Warriors will take on the Nuggets Saturday in their first playoff game in two years.
