The Golden State Warriors took a roll of the dice by signing DeMarcus Cousins, one that many other teams didn't rush to the table for. Head coach Steve Kerr is cognizant of that risk and recently brought some encouraging news on his return, which was largely expected to be around late December or January.
“He’s right on schedule. He hasn’t had any setbacks. He’s doing well,” Kerr said of Cousins, according to Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News. “Beyond that, there’s nothing. No prediction. Especially with an Achilles injury, you have to wait and see how the player responds once he’s on the court and moving at full speed.”
Despite the injury, Cousins has been as engaged as ever, posting videos of his workouts on Twitter and Instagram, while awaiting the day he gets to prove his haters and critics wrong for doubting his impending return.

A recent video of consecutive 3-point makes went viral, one that was noteworthy given Golden State's propensity to scorch the nets from distance.

Cousins has yet to ramp up activity, but he will be expected to do so in November, once the season has started, which would put him right on schedule to return right by Christmas time or later.
Kerr will be intent on monitoring Cousins' activity and ensure the eager big man doesn't rush his return to the court, as the Warriors have invested in him as a playoff piece to the puzzle more so than a cog to get them through the regular season.
