The Golden State Warriors are hit by one of the worst injury bugs in recent years, and head coach Steve Kerr can't believe what happening to them.
Klay Thompson remains out due to the ACL tear he sustained in the 2019 NBA Finals. Meanwhile, Stephen Curry recently broke his hand, which will at least keep him out for at least three months. To make matters worse, Draymond Green (finger) and D'Angelo Russell (ankle) have both been ruled out in their latest match against the Charlotte Hornets,
With all the injuries to their top stars, Kerr can't help it but exclaim it was a “What the Hell is going on” situation for them.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr describes these injuries as a “What the Hell is going on” situation. The Warriors literally do not have a backup point guard available tonight.

Before taking on the Hornets, Kerr even asked a reporter if he were busy — as he could serve as a backup point guard for the night.
Steve Kerr was asked by @timkawakami, “do you have a backup point guard right now?”
Kerr: “Are you busy?”
Tim: “I’m very expensive and you’re hard capped.”

With Curry and Thompson out, Russell hurt and Green showing wear and tear, Kerr has to make a quick decision on what's the direction going to be. He can go with option A, which is to attempt to still win. The Warriors built their ethos and culture on joy, teamwork, and selflessness. Until everyone is healthy, the Dubs can turn into last season's Spurs: a low seed playoff team.
Or, they can go ahead and tank, prepping for 2020-21 campaign when everyone is healthy. They will get a high draft pick but they have Klay, Steph Draymond and Russell in the fold. Curry and Klay can come back with no rush, Green can have minutes restricted and Russell can get acclimated to the system.
Kerr may be scratching his head now, but better days are coming for the Warriors.
