The Golden State Warriors had two lottery picks in the 2021 NBA Draft and selected Jonathan Kuminga at No. 7 and Moses Moody with the 14th pick. Kuminga has outshined Moody this season, but after Moody’s performance against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, Steve Kerr said he would finally get a legit chance.

“Moses is going to be a part of things going forward,” the Warriors head coach told ClutchPoints. “He's now at the point where he's ready, as he showed tonight. You have to have guys like that. He's got a big body and he's got a long wingspan. He can guard multiple positions. He can switch and those are the kinds of players you have to have in the playoffs. So I'm really excited about Moses.”

Moody was a much-needed spark for the Warriors against the Mavs on Thursday, even though the final result was a 122-113 defeat. He knocked down two huge 3-pointers, with one of them tying the game in the final quarter. The rookie scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, and it earned him his biggest shot yet.

Kerr’s comments don't mean he's guaranteed big minutes or a spot in the playoff rotation. It's just an opportunity to showcase what he can do, an opportunity that was earned and not given. The Warriors rookie has been a true professional all season and has patiently waited for his moment.

Moody's next challenge will be against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Both teams are struggling to win games right now, so it will be an opportunity for Moody to show how he can help change that for the Warriors.
