The Golden State Warriors have been dealt a troubling blow of recent injuries to key players. After losing Klay Thompson for what could be the entirety of this season, Stephen Curry is set to miss at least three months due to a broken hand.
There is a plan that Warriors coach Steve Kerr has to manage Draymond Green's playing time and appearances because they don't want to ‘run him into the ground.'
Kerr on Draymond: “The one thing we won’t do is run him into the ground … right now he’s kind of the lone survivor.”
Says Warriors will watch his workload and manage his minutes. Says Draymond will be a teacher for the younger players on the roster.

The strategy to help Green avoid a potential injury is smart because the last thing the Warriors need is to suffer another significant injury to a star player. As long as they can get through this season with Curry, Thompson, and Green all ready to go next season, that's all that matters.
The period when Curry is sidelined will be a great opportunity for D'Angelo Russell and Green to build chemistry with one another. There were plenty of problematic tendencies that Russell displayed when playing alongside Curry and if he can't fit with Green when Curry is not playing, then the need to trade Russell becomes beyond obvious.
It will be difficult for the Warriors to earn a spot in the Western Conference playoffs this season with so many tough injuries. Steve Kerr having to manage Draymond Green's minutes and appearances will only make that more challenging. However, being on the outside looking in on the playoffs this season wouldn't be the worst thing for the organization to re-tool in the offseason.
