Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr commended superstar Kevin Durant after another stellar performance for the defending champions in the 2019 NBA Playoffs.
Durant erupted for 35 points to lead the Warriors to a hard-earned 104-100 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. The 30-year-old forward also posted five rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal for Golden State.
During his postgame interview, Kerr was asked about his thoughts on Durant's performance in their last few games. The three-time NBA champion coach said that he has seen a performance similar to Durant's before, comparing it to his former Chicago Bulls teammate Michael Jordan.
“There's this guy, Michael something, can't remember his last name,” Kerr said in jest. “Kevin's run these last couple of weeks has been off the chart. I've said it a few times this week that he is the most skilled basketball player on earth.”

Kevin Durant has been on a scoring tear in the last four games. In Game 4 of their first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers, he posted 33 points, which was followed by a 45-point performance in Game 5. He then torched the Clippers with 50 points to close out the series in Game 6.
The 10-time All-Star carried the Warriors on his shoulders on Sunday, helping them escape with the narrow win despite the sub-par scoring performance from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Curry finished with just 18 points, while Thompson ended up with 13 points for the Bay Area team.
