The Golden State Warriors had multiple players elevate their game to another level this season. Andrew Wiggins became an All-Star for the first time, and center Kevon Looney is having a career season. But nobody on Golden State has raised their level of play more than third-year guard Jordan Poole.
Poole is averaging career highs in points, rebounds and assists. He also leads the NBA in free throw percentage. The improvements might come as a surprise to some, but Steve Kerr saw it coming last season, and he explained one of the main reasons for Poole’s success.
“Confidence. He was good last year, and he really turned the corner last year and became a good NBA player this year,” Steve Kerr told ClutchPoints. “He's got so much confidence and belief in himself. So even if he starts slow, he has great faith that he's going to get going in a game, and he knows how quick he is to get good shots up anytime he wants and create offense for us. He's been great.”
