The Golden State Warriors this season have gone through a series of ups and downs. They started out a little flat, Stephen Curry was hurt for a few weeks, Klay Thompson is having a down year, and a lot of the pressure has gone to Kevin Durant to lead the team.

On Christmas day, the Warriors surprisingly lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 127-101. LeBron James didn't even play the entire game after leaving the game halfway through with a left-groin strain.

What can the Warriors do to cure their “midseason crisis”? Head coach Steve Kerr broke it down to Anthony Slater of the Athletic, emphasizing that Draymond Green holds the key for them to succeed.

“The way we play, we get a lot of screen assists. We traditionally have done that with pins for Steph and KD. A lot of times Draymond is handling the ball and gets the assist for that. There are also times where he could be the screener, and that's something you'll see more of.”

Furthermore, Steve Kerr reiterated his belief on the Warriors and proclaimed that they will only keep on improving after their embarrassing loss to the Lakers.

“I think it's a combination of a lot of things.  But we've got to be able to counter any defense that we see. That's our job now. Basically everyone is playing the same way. We're seeing the same patterns defensively, night in and night out. So we've got to adapt to that. That's what we worked on today. I have no doubt that we will improve. We'll improve our execution and find new ways to score.”

Draymond Green is not having the best season of his career, as he's struggled to hit shots consistently, especially from deep. On the season, he is averaging 7.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game while shooting only 40.7 percent from the field and 22.4 percent from beyond the arc.

The Warriors are 23-12 this season and currently sit 2nd in the NBA's Western Conference. They will play the Portland Trailblazers next this upcoming Thursday evening.
