One of the best pickups this offseason for the Golden State Warriors was 37 year old Andre Iguodala. Even tho he's missed about a month of playing time this season, he's been more than just valuable on the court. However, on Friday night, that on-court value was on full display against the Boston Celtics.

“Andre was brilliant…He knocked down a couple of threes that were very important,” Steve Kerr told ClutchPoints. “The one at the end of the shot clock in the fourth quarter was maybe the shot of the game. So Andre was vintage Andre tonight, crucial in every way.”

Against Boston, Andre Iguodala turned back the clock a few times making a couple of highlight plays. He finished the game with 12 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. The Warriors needed every bit of his production to leave Boston with a win, and later they will need all he can offer if they want to make a championship run this season.

That's the biggest reason the Warriors brought back Iguodala. It's all about the ending. The plan isn't to get this type of production all season, although some night's he will have it going. The Warriors want him to have something left in the tank to close out the year strong.

Meanwhile, he's the perfect mentor to some of the younger players who might be in and out of the rotation. The knowledge he brings to the team from the bench and on the floor is priceless.

Igoudala will sit out to rest his knee on Saturday. The team will travel to Toronto to face the Raptors. It will be the last game of a five-game road trip and the second game of a back-to-back.
