SACRAMENTO, Calif. â It feels like a long time since the Golden State Warriors had a game go as well as it did Sunday night. The Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings 109-90 on the road. In the first quarter, something happened that let Steve Kerr know it was going to be a good night.
âWhen Draymond makes two 3s we almost always win,â Kerr told ClutchPoints. âHe softens up the defense a little bit. It gets him going. His energy picks up and it's a big factor if he can make a couple. It got us off to a really good start.â

The Warriors are one of the best shooting teams in the league. Whenever Green is the one rising for a 3-pointer, opponents usually welcome it because of his 31.5% career mark from long distance. He hasn't made over 31% of his triples since 2015-16 and hasn't been over 30% since 2017-18.
The problem is, sometimes he can make you pay. Sunday night, the Warriors star did just that.

When Green knocks down a 3-pointer, he lets the entire arena know it. He's the leader of the team, so that means his teammates often follow him. The Warriors beat the Kings in 3-pointers made, 16-7.
The two first-quarter shots were the only two baskets of the night for Green. Those points meant more than the value on the stat sheet. It gave him and his struggling team confidence. The game could have gone another way if Green missed those shots, but he didn't.
The Warriors finally got a break. Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Otto Porter, and an injured Stephen Curry were out, but the Warriors still came away with a rather easy victory.
Six points by Green could be the biggest reason why.
