The Golden State Warriors have a quality amount of depth with a number of important players. Stephen Curry is obviously irreplaceable. Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole, and Draymond Green are key cogs to the ignition. But head coach Steve Kerr revealed that Andrew Wiggins is the player the Warriors need on the floor against the Celtics during the NBA Finals.

Kerr explained himself following Golden State's Game 4 win.

“Wiggs (Andrew Wiggins) was fantastic,” Kerr said. “To go against Boston, you've gotta deal with (Jayson) Tatum and (Jaylen) Brown. They're just powerful, skilled players. Great size, they are coming down hill at you constantly. So we have to have Wiggs out there.”

Andrew Wiggins tallied 16 rebounds to go along with 17 points in 43 minutes. Steve Kerr was willing to keep him on the court for almost the entirety of the game.

His defense is the most impactful aspect of his game for the Warriors. Obviously, Golden State loves to see him post 17 points. But that is practically icing on the cake. Wiggins plays a major defensive role against players such as Tatum and Brown. Kerr understands that and therefore realizes his true value to the Warriors.

Kerr said later during the postgame press conference that the Warriors needed every bit of Wiggins' contributions. His role on the team has become increasingly more valuable throughout the season and he has clearly emerged as one of Kerr's favorite options. We can expect another high-minute effort for Andrew Wiggins in Golden State's crucial upcoming Game 5 NBA Finals affair.
