Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had a feeling the Dubs' game against the New Orleans Pelicans was going to be a high-scoring affair.

In an interview with Tom Tolbert of KNBR 680, Kerr says he and his assistant coaches set an over/under for the Warriors' game against the Pelicans, a contest Golden State won by a final score of 134-123:

“I have to admit something to you. I set an over/under with the rest of the coaching staff on total points,” Kerr said, via Drew Shiller of NBC Sports Bay Area. “This is probably against NBA rules — I may lose my job over this, probably not a smart thing to say on the radio — but before the game, seeing their lineup and seeing our lineup — they're small, we're small, we got shooters everywhere, so do they.

“For $1 — over/under — I think I set it at 228. Aaron Miles jumped in, he goes, ‘Under, it's going under.' Poor Aaron. The last two minutes, I think New Orleans made like five 3s or something (laughter).

“And by that time I had completely forgotten about it. Then we get into the locker room after the game and Aaron hands me a dollar, and I burst out laughing.”

The Warriors got their first win of the season against the Pelicans. They are now 1-2.

The days of the Warriors coasting through the regular season are long gone since Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala are no longer on the team and Klay Thompson is expected to miss a big chunk of the season recovering from his left ACL tear.

The Warriors may put up a lot of points this season, but they could also give up a lot. It's going to be interesting to see if the Dubs can get it together on defense.
