Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is being patient about the progress of Jordan Poole.
Pressure could be mounting on Jordan Poole as he is now given bigger responsibilities in his third year with the Warriors. As expected, there are still a lot of room for improvement as the 22-year-old is still learning his trade.
Despite the inconsistency, Steve Kerr is certain Poole has the potential to become a key figure in the Warriors team because he sees a couple of traits in him that don't reflect on the score sheets.
Article Continues Below“It takes a long time and it takes a lot of bumps and bruises along the way,” Kerr said of Poole via NBC Sports. “So I couldn't be happier with Jordan, just how coachable he is, how mature he's been, as I said, the trend has been going in the right direction, that doesn't mean it's going to be seamless by any means, but he'll find his confidence.”
Turnovers have been one of the biggest setbacks of the Warriors this season. So far, Poole already has 21 to his name. However, his efforts have not gone unnoticed.
In fact, aside from Kerr, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is also convinced that in time, Poole will reach his peak while assuring the youngster that he doesn't need to be pressured every single game.
“[Poole] He wants it really bad,” Curry told ClutchPoints. “He wants to be great in this league. Honestly, you can see it, but it takes time, and for him, it’s just understanding that you don’t have to press every night.”
