Draymond Green has taken rookie James Wiseman under his wing, showing his leadership role on the Golden State Warriors. While speaking to ESPN's Rachel Nichols recently in an interview, Green revealed the comical reason why he's particularly fond of yelling at the rookie Wiseman.
Last night Draymond Green reminded everyone just how thoroughly he can affect a basketball game – we sat down 1-on-1 to discuss the Warriors identity this year, his mentorship of James Wiseman and whether he regrets how much trash he talked about Rodney McGruder: pic.twitter.com/ICelKBlB5R

Nichols informed Green that Klay Thompson said that he was happy that Green was yelling at Wiseman and not him anymore. Green revealed he yells at Wiseman now because Thompson used to make the young player on the roster, but Wiseman has now secured that role on the Warriors.
The funny thing about Green yelling at Thompson earlier in their careers together is that Green is only a year older than Thompson. Despite coming into the NBA a year after Thompson, Green spent more time in college than Thompson did before both of them entered the draft.

Nevertheless, Green and Thompson have built a strong relationship over the years as they've won championships with the Warriors. But with Wiseman being a key piece for Golden State's future, Green has accepted the responsibility of mentoring him early in his career.
Throughout his career, Green has shown that he isn't afraid to say whatever is on his mind. Given that, there are probably moments where emotions escalate between Green and Wiseman.
However, Green makes it clear that he's just trying to get the most out of Wiseman when he yells at him during certain moments. While Green continues to strengthen his relationship with Wiseman, Thompson is just glad he's no longer the target when Green raises his voice.
